Ngemwa Estate, located in Kirinyaga County, Kenya, is the source of our festive coffee, chosen for its exceptional flavour notes of candied fruit, citrus, and Maltesers. Established in 1948, the estate is divided into two sections: one with SL28 and SL34 coffee varietals, and the other dedicated to Ruiru 11, a disease-resistant variety planted in 1983. The cherries are carefully handpicked, processed, and sun-dried on raised beds, with water from the Kamiti River nourishing the rich soils.
Ngemwa Estate employs around 40 people and provides fresh water and other amenities to its staff, along with sustainable farming practices that protect the environment.
