Musasa Dukundekawa Women's Lot – A Coffee with Purpose

Sourced from the Musasa Dukundekawa cooperative in Rwanda’s rugged northwest, this exceptional lot is produced exclusively by women—many of whom are widows from the 1990s genocide. As part of the Rambagira Kawa Women's Group, these 310 women process their coffee separately, ensuring that the additional income supports their families and strengthens their roles as community leaders.

Grown at elevations of 1,999 to 2,020 meters at Rwanda’s highest washing stations, Ruli and Mbilima, this coffee benefits from the country’s transition to quality-focused specialty production—a movement led by the PEARL and SPREAD programs. These initiatives have helped small-scale farmers rebuild their livelihoods, transforming Rwanda’s coffee sector.

With every sip, you support a story of resilience, empowerment, and exceptional craftsmanship.
